Tenaga Nasional has migrated corporate and non-real time operational data traffic to the first phase of a new IP/MPLS backbone based on Juniper Networks routers running the Junos operating system.

Deployment of the MX480 and MX240 routers enables Tenaga to reduce operational costs and introduce new converged IP applications.

Tenaga used a frame relay service to carry applications such as telemetering, ERP, VoIP telephony, internet access, customer information and billing, email and video conferencing.

Tenaga is now using Ethernet-over-SDH as the transport for its new IP/MPLS backbone, enabling it to carry all operational and corporate traffic over its own infrastructure.
