Openet has launched the Fair Usage solution, which allows service providers to enforce limits on subscriber usage volume, while enabling the purchase of additional volume when limits are reached.
The solution, based on Openet's FusionWorks Policy Manager and Convergent Charging products, identifies high-volume usage over any time period.
Through a self-care website, an operator's subscribers can access info on their usage. They are also given email and text message alerts prior to the imposition of usage limits.
While the solution creates exception policies for high-value subscribers, it also generates reports on repeat violators to enable the service provider to take necessary actions.
