AuthenTec's low-power AES1711 fingerprint sensor is built for mobile devices, including PDAs and GPS devices.
It offers an input/output voltage range of 1.8-3.3 V and designed for instant access to content and phone features like browsing, games, camera and email.
AES1711 is likewise suited for securing near-field communication applications, such as mobile payments, allowing uses to swipe their fingers instead of typing PINs, codes or passwords.
The AES1711 is already designed for new phone models due for launch later this year, according to AuthenTec.
