Singapore's M1 has launched its Hosted Unified Communications (UC) service tailored for modern businesses looking to boost productivity and enhance availability.
The company will offer the software-powered service for S$10.70 ($7.60) per user per month. It supports instant messaging, digital voice, conferencing, network presence detection, web collaboration, made available through a user-friendly desktop and mobile client.
Increasingly, business is being conducted through mobile calls, instant messaging and e-mail, on a smartphone. Despite this, many businesses continue to pay for underused legacy communications tools such as fixed phone lines.
While on-premise UC solutions exist, take-up has been limited to larger enterprises due to high capital investment requirements and management complexity. As a result, many employees remain desk-bound or resort to third party consumer tools.
“Today, business is conducted over smartphones, instant messages and e-mail, not fixed phone lines, fax machines, and voice mails, M1 chief product development officer Willis Sim said.
“M1 Hosted UC replaces these obsolete communications tools with more effective modern tools, and ensuring they are easy for their mobile workers to pick up, as well as for the business to manage, thus allowing the business to focus its resources on the things that matter.”
