Microsoft Hong Kong now has more than 800 partners selling cloud services, including 300 Azure partners added in the 10 months since launching the Azure Open Partners program.

The company revealed the statistics at Microsoft's Channel Partner Kickoff in Hong Kong on Friday.

To further develop its cloud presence Microsoft has launched a new Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partner program and has appointed Ingram Micro as Hong Kong's first CSP partner.

Under the CSP program, partners and resellers are encouraged to deliver value-added services on top of Microsoft's cloud products including Azure and Office 365, taking full ownership of customer relationships and sales partners.

“We see great values and new opportunities in the CSP program for resellers who are looking to grow their businesses with the booming cloud market,” said Dirk Doets, senior managing director of Ingram Hong Kong.

“The Microsoft CSP program is designed to strengthen customer relationships and expand cloud sales by allowing channel partners to provision, bundle, invoice, manage and support Microsoft cloud offerings with greater ease and efficiency.”

At the event Microsoft named KBQuest as country partner of the year for Hong Kong, praising the company for its deep-rooted connections with customers and its progress evolving its business model to cope with changing customer needs in the cloud era.
