Mobile site solution boosts network coverage, capacity

Nokia Siemens Networks has launched its High-Performance Site Solution, which allows operators to cost- effectively and rapidly modernize and expand their mobile networks.

The solution promises significant savings by increasing base station capacity by 80% and coverage area by up to 40%.

Tommi Uitto, head of wireless access product management, said the compact solution brings much-needed extra capacity without the need for additional antennas or physical space.

Also, the solution is long-term evolution-ready and requires a simple software upgrade when deployed in HSPA networks.
