About 1.44 million tablet PCs has been sold in the second quarter of the year with a sequential growth rate of 39.04%, according to a report

The report from Analysys International also said the sales volume of tablet PC kept a steady growth in the quarter.

The report further said 61% of mobile phone users believe that the tablet PC is suitable for mobile office and not for entertainment purposes.

The report also said device products share almost the same content. The competition will revolve around hardware, brand, channel and price. If every device manufacturer adopts Android system in tablet PC, similar content will lift the competition threshold. The core competition will come back to focus on hardware, brand, channel and price.

The report further said the whole market is driven by price and that device manufacturers will face a fierce price war with the involvement of more manufacturers during the peak season.

Tablet PCs with no strong hardware features, no clear advantages in brand and channel will be kicked out of the game during the “war,” and the number of copycat mobile manufacturers will be gradually reduced, the report said.
