Nokia and professional services company Accenture have formed a new joint venture aimed at helping operators and large enterprises transition to modern digital networks.

The Nokia Accenture Business Group will work with customers to optimize networks and enhance the customer experience.

The group will also jointly develop and market products and services in the areas of CEM and analytics, network and business transformation, SDN-based enterprise services for operators, software-defined data centers for large enterprises and IP and digital services for the mining, oil and gas industries.

Accenture has been named Nokia's preferred partner for professional services to complement its software integration and network services, while Nokia will be a preferred provider for Accenture's CEM, SDN and network service offerings.

The alliance is based on the model of the Accenture Alcatel-Lucent Business Group, which was announced in September 2014. Now that Nokia has acquired Alcatel-Lucent, the group is being expanded and renamed.

“Today’s pace of technological change, driven by the transition to 5G, the Internet of Things and the cloud, is demanding extraordinary new capabilities from the network,” Nokia chief strategy officer Kathrin Buvac said.
