Nokia has launched a new security software suite designed to bolster operators' ability to detect, predict and combat the growing ransomware threat.

The latest upgrade to Nokia's NetGuard Security Management Center will allow operators to monitor, configure and control multi-vendor security systems deployed across their networks.

It integrates analytics and automation to allow operators to proactively respond to threats. Nokia said the software has the potential to reduce the cost of investigating threats by 50%, reduce false alerts by up to 70% and speed investigation times by more than 50%, while also mitigating threats before they occur.

“More sophisticated attacks, growing network complexity and the proliferation of IoT and other devices make it nearly impossible for security teams to monitor, react to and resolve today's threats quickly and effectively,” Nokia Applications and Analytics head of emerging products Ron Haberman said.

“Our Security Management Center helps service providers streamline business processes, reduce costs and proactively address security threats before they impact end users or businesses."
