Australia's Optus Business has secured an A$12 million ($8.7 million) contract to provide voice, data and mobile communications services to major Australian industrial company CSR.

CSR is one of the ASX100 group of Australia's largest companies, with a market capitalization of around A$1.78 billion. The company produces building products for construction projects.

Under the agreement, Optus Business will provide communications services across 150 of CSR's Australian sites. The company plans to deliver a solution that will enable CSR to combine voice, video and data applications on a single network.

Optus Business managing director John Paitaridis said the three and a half year agreement is aimed at helping lay the foundation for CSR's digital transformation.

“Technology is changing the way we work and how businesses operate and it’s all underpinned by the need for a resilient, high capacity, scalable enterprise-grade network,” he said.

“CSR, like many Australian enterprises, is preparing for the rapidly growing volume of data needed to leverage the latest technology developments that are transforming how customers and employees are interacting and engaging with organizations.”

Optus Business is the enterprise division of major Australian operator Optus, which is itself a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Singtel Group.
