Motorola names acting CFO

Edward J. Fitzpatrick, SVP and corporate controller, has been named to the additional role of acting CFO, effective immediately. He replaces Paul J. Liska, former CFO, and Motorola has initiated a search for a permanent replacement.

LG Electronics taps new marketing head

LG Electronics has appointed Bo H. (Bo-Hwan) Choi as VP and head of mobile communications marketing for Asia. He will head the pan-Asian mobile sales and marketing portfolio of the company's mobile business, while holds an additional portfolio as LG Mobile Communications Company's Asia Regional Business Leader with direct P&L, strategic and operational responsibilities across Asia. Choi, formerly the head of LG Mobile Communications Company's Asia and MEA (Middle East and Africa) operations, will be based in Singapore.

DiGi Telecommunications has appointed Zaiton Hj Idrus to head its corporate affairs division, succeeding Tunku Alizakri, who will be pursuing new professional and personal interests after four years in DiGi.

Qualcomm names Bill Stone SVP and president of FLO TV

Bill Stone has joined Qualcomm as SVP and president of FLO TV, replacing Gina Lombardi who has led FLO TV for the past three years. Before joining Qualcomm, Stone has worked at several companies, including GTE Wireless, AirTouch Cellular, Vodafone, Verizon and Amp'd Mobile. Most recently, he was CEO for Handango, a leading provider of mobile content.

Avaya Apac appoints channels and alliance MD

Avaya has appointed industry veteran Chee Heng Loon to managing director of channels and alliances for Asia Pacific. He will be based in Singapore and lead Avaya's high-touch channel-centric programming and channel efforts in the region.
