Following the launch of its Ubigate iBG3026 router for enterprises in June 2006, Samsung. now extends the benefits of this multi-function connectivity solution.

According to Youngsoo-Ryu, senior VP, Business Management Office, Telecommunications Network Business, Samsung, 'The biggest concern in the networking industry today is security for the infrastructure and the application. This becomes even more important as an increasing number of a company's workforce goes mobile. While mobility helps raises productivity, it introduces a security risk to the organization's network as mobile devices connect to the company's wireless LAN infrastructure.'

One of the key features of the Ubigate Series is its integrated security module which inspects all incoming and outbound traffic at the router level, says Ryu, complemented by desktop agents that block any internal end-points that are behaving abnormally.

Asked about Samsung's channel-to-market strategy, Ryu says they are looking at a multi-prong strategy for delivery of its Ubigate series. 'Some markets will see the product delivered through a combination of direct and through channels,' he says. 'We will also look at possible OEM opportunities. For now, our goal is to ensure that we identify the right channel partner depending on market requirements.'

'Our goal is to capture 10% of the global market over a five-year window,' says Ryu.
