Two Asian companies, Avon Cycles in India and Nongfu Spring in China, have utilized SAP's HANA suite to power analytics and transactions into a single in-memory platform.
Avon Cycles, India's largest cycle manufacturer and exporter, had replaced an Oracle system with the SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA.
"At Avon Cycles, we are constantly looking for ways to do things faster, smarter and more efficiently. We need to constantly manage a huge volume of bought out components - each bicycle has more than 360 components and there are over 200 models with an average of three sizes per model and three colors in each size," said Kuljeet Singh Sethi, CIO, Avon Cycles Ltd. "Adding to the complexity is the challenge of forecasting our sales as bicycles are regarded as commodities in India, resulting in a very short lead time for material requirements planning. Transforming to real-time planning and monitoring of order fulfilment scenarios are extremely critical for Avon Cycles."
Nongfu Spring, China's largest bottled water producer, became the first customer for SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse powered by SAP HANA in China in 2011.
