Huawei announced it has helped the Shantou branch of China Mobile, Shantou Mobile, develop what it says is the world's first experience-based LTE network deployment system.

Huawei worked with Shantou Mobile to build a performance surveillance network deployment platform that provides real-time data about the user experience (UX).

The pilot project in some Shantou Mobile service areas has helped the operator make network plans more than 10 times faster than using traditional network evaluation and planning projects, the companies said.

Shantou Mobile plans to use the system on the entire network, and to work with Huawei on network deployment based on VoLTE or HD video user experience metrics.

The system has been tailored to current mobile broadband networks, to reflect increasing LTE coverage and network load.

Huawei and Shantou Mobile have been collaborating on mobile broadband network planning and optimization since 2012.

“Huawei has always been seeking ways to innovate and to help operators improve their O&M efficiency," Huawei president of wireless SingleOSS products Jiang Wangcheng said.

“Our online, real-time, and visualized [performance surveillance] data greatly improves the result and efficiency of daily mobile broadband network planning to effectively improve mobile user experience.”
