Shiron Satellite Communications Ltd. and Memotec have successfully completed interoperability tests between Memotec and the Shiron InterSKY 2-Way Satellite IP Broadband platform.
As a result of the successful interoperability tests, Memotec and Shiron have extended their reach in the market with their field-proven GSM solutions, according to the companies.
Memotec's GSM compression and optimization solution, when combined with Shiron's InterSKY BOD (bandwidth-on-demand), reduces bandwidth requirements by approximately 65%, compared to traditional GSM over satellite implementations.
