SingTel has announced a wide-ranging organizational restructuring aimed at allowing the company to enhance the focus on its consumer businesses in its operating markets.

As part of the reshuffle, Allen Lew will take the role of CEO Consumer Australia and the CEO of Australian subsidiary Optus. He is taking over from long-serving former Optus chief Paul O'Sullivan, who will instead become the Optus chairman.

Under the new structure, the CEOs of SingTel's various consumer businesses will report directly to group CEO Chua Sock Koong.

These include the newly-appointed CEO, group Digial L!fe Jonathan Auerbach, as well as the new country chief officer for Singapore [and current CEO, group enterprise] Bill Chang.

In total, 11 executives will report directly to the group CEO under the revamped organizational structure.

Chua said the restructuring is aimed at driving group synergies and diversifying its leadership pool as well as driving greater focus for the telco and digital businesses.

“We are strengthening our market leadership and increasing our relevance to customers. The restructure combines retention of existing management strength and experience with new leadership talent,” she said.

“Our team will advance the SingTel Group’s transformation strategy to sustain growth, competitiveness and innovation into the future.”
