SingTel has announced plans to implement a range of network capacity enhancements aimed at improving mobile internet speeds in crowded places by up to 20%.

The company will deploy a self-organising network (SON) system on its network, and progressively roll out small cells to crowded locations.

Through the upgrades, the company also aims to reduce the chances of a dropped call in crowded places by as much as 40%.

SingTel's DataRoam saver plan will allow for unlimited 4G roaming in these markets for S$15 ($12) per day.

Australian subsidiary Optus is handling roaming in that market, while SingTel has deals with SK Telecom, Globe, CSL, Maxis and Telkomsel covering the remaining markets.
