Indonesia's Smartfren has revealed that its TDD/FDD LTE network now covers 85 cities across the country.

The company now has an estimated 1 million LTE customers out of a total subscriber base of 13 million, the Jakarta Postreported.

Smartfren offers FDD LTE on 850-MHz and TD-LTE over the 2300-MHz band, and is rolling out LTE services in cities across the nation.

The operator has contracted Nokia to deploy infrastructure in Greater Jakarta, West Java and Sumatra for the rollout, while ZTE is providing equipment for Central Java, East Java, Bali, Lombok, Kalimantan and Sulawesi.

Smartfren has set a target of having 5 million LTE subscribers at the end of the year, and is working with smartphone manufacturers to help entice more customers to adopt 4G.

The operator reported data services revenue of 1.84 trillion rupiah ($132.5 million) for the nine months ending in September last year, and aims to significantly increase this figure by stimulating 4G adoption.
