Hong Kong carrier neutral data center service provider SUNeVision has implemented direct connectivity to the Amazon Web Services cloud at its MEGA Campus.

Customers of the campus' two data centers, the MEGA-i and MEGA Two, will now have a secure, direct connection to the AWS cloud.

SUNeVision said the direct link will provide improved throughput, latency, security and quality of experience at a lower cost compared to internet-based connections.

Customers will also be able to use AWS Direct Connect to establish private virtual interfaces between any on-premise network directly to their Amazon virtual private cloud (VPC), and establish private connectivity to multiple VPCs while maintaining network isolation.

The service will be provided on a pay-as-you-go basis with no minimum commitment.

“Through AWS Direct Connect, SUNeVision is enabling our customers to directly connect to the local AWS gateway in a secured, speedy and cost-effective manner. Customers co-locating their IT infrastructure in our MEGA Campus can connect to AWS directly with a simple cross connect,” SUNeVision executive director and CEO Peter Yan said.

“We also empower members of the AWS Partner Network within MEGA Campus to connect their customers to AWS. Customers and Network Service Providers can now leverage our MEGA Campus to securely and instantly incorporate AWS Cloud services into their existing infrastructure to build cost-effective and agile hybrid cloud solutions.”
