Tejinder Kalra becomes COO of Indus Towers

Indian telecoms tower company Indus Towers has appointed Tejinder Kalra as chief operating officer. The appointment came into effect from July 1.

With over 26 years of experience in the telecoms industry, Kalra has extensive experience in strategy development, implementation and service delivery across geographies.

Kalra joins Indus Towers from Nokia, where he was the global head for Bharti business in his most recent role.

Prior to Nokia, Kalra has been working with Reliance Infocomm, Satyam Infoway, Sprint RPG India among other organizations in the past.

Sandeep Girotra to lead Nokia’s APJ operations, while Sanjay Malik becomes Indian head

Nokia has appointed Sandeep Girotra (pictured) as head of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) market, replacing Paul Tyler, who is leaving the company.

In his new role, Girotra will lead customer operations, drive the business growth strategy and superior customer engagement services across multiple channels for the APJ market. He will be based in Singapore.

Girotra has worked for Nokia for 20 years and is currently head of Indian market, a role he has held since 2011.

Sanjay Malik, currently head of network implementation at Nokia Global Services, will succeed Girotra as head of India.

In his new role, Malik will lead customer operations, drive the business growth strategy and superior customer engagement services for the India market. He will be based in Gurgaon.

Previously, Malik he was heading Bharti GCBT (Global CBT), where he led the transformation of the business by enhancing customer satisfaction, market share and business results across India and Africa.

Both appointments take effect on August 1.
