Intel hires Qualcomm’s Murthy Renduchintala to head new IoT unit

Intel has appointed Dr. Venkata "Murthy" Renduchintala as president of a newly created Client and Internet of Things (IoT) Businesses and Systems Architecture Group.

The new operation brings together Intel's Platform Engineering, Client Computing, IoT, Software and Services, and Design & Technology Solutions groups.

Renduchintala will lead Intel's efforts to align product design, engineering and business direction to tighten the company’s strategy and speed execution across the communications, device and IoT segments. He has also been appointed as an executive officer of Intel, the company said.

Prior to joining Intel, Renduchintala was executive vice president of Qualcomm Technologies and co-president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT). In this role, he was responsible for leading Qualcomm's semiconductor business in the computing, mobile and adjacent segments.

CSG chief executive Peter Kalan retires, COO Bret Griess named successor

CSG International said its chief executive officer Peter Kalan will be retiring at the end of the year, following 19 years of service with the company.

The company has appointed president and chief operating officer Bret Griess to succeed Kalan as president and CEO. In addition, Griess will be appointed to CSG’s board.

The appointments will be effective January 1, 2016, CSG said.

Griess has served in various senior and executive management roles with CSG for over 19 years. In his current capacity, he oversees the company’s global sales, operations and delivery, client relationships, product development & management.

Prior to this role, he held a variety of positions in operations and information technology, including chief operating officer.
