Kordia CEO steps down

Kordia said its group CEO Geoff Hunt is leaving the New Zealand state-owned enterprise and his position is being disestablished.

Hunt, who was chief executive for eight years, will leave Kordia Group at the end of March. The company has no immediate plans for his next role.

Hunt was recruited in 2005 to head THL Group, which was renamed Kordia Group in 2006. He led Kordia’s ‘broadcast to broadband’ transformation strategy, and joined two of its units - Orcon and Kordia Networks - to create Kordia New Zealand in October last year.

Scott Bartlett is CEO of Kordia New Zealand and Peter Robson continues to lead Kordia Solutions Australia. Both will now report to the board, along with the Group CFO, Shaun Rendell.

"Now that both businesses are performing well, it makes sense that they each now report directly to the Kordia board," Hunt said in a statement.

Wang Jiangzhou joins GSMA as senior advisor

The GSMA has appointed Dr. Wang Jianzhou, former executive chairman of China Mobile, as a senior advisor to the industry association.

Wang will work closely with GSMA chairman Franco Bernabè and the GSMA board to identify new opportunities in and advance key initiatives for the mobile industry.

Wang held executive roles at China Mobile from 2004 to 2012, most recently holding the position of executive chairman. Prior to China Mobile, he spent four years at China Unicom, holding the roles of president and chairman.
