Indonesia's Telkom grew it net profit for 2015 by 6.7% on the strength of solid data growth.

The state-owned operator reported a net income for the year of 14.5 trillion rupiah ($1.17 billion). Revenue meanwhile grew 14% to 102.5 trillion rupiah.

But operating, maintenance and related costs rose 26% while interconnection charges increased 21.6%, dragging down profit growth for the year.

Data, internet and IT services revenue grew 26% to 47.8 trillion rupiah, exceeding call revenue for the first time, the Jakarta Post noted. Fixed and mobile call revenue still grew 5.6% for the year to 45 trillion rupiah.

Last year marked the launch of Telkom's 4G network, and the company also aggressively expanded the footprint of its IndiHome fiber broadband service.

Telkom ended the year with 152.6 million mobile users, of which 149.1 million were prepaid. IndiHome subscribers meanwhile reached 1.1 million by the end of the year, out of a total broadband customer base of 3.9 million.
