Thailand's TOT has revealed plans to roll out a fixed wireless broadband service for residential customers in the Bangkok metro area in December.

The state-owned operator is deploying a service using its 2300-MHz spectrum, and plans to introduce a 10Mbps download unlimited data plan for 299 baht ($9.10) per month, the Bangkok Post reported.

TOT plans to target customers including internet users living in suburban areas of the city, particularly those in condominiums with no wired internet access.

The operator also plans to provide a 4G hotspot to allow access to wireless broadband services on the go.

In April, the operator entered a commercial agreement to provide access to the 2300-MHz spectrum and lease its telecoms equipment to Dtac TriNet to jointly provide an LTE service over the spectrum.

TOT is also involved in a partnership agreement allowing AIS to provide 3G services over its 2100-MHz spectrum.

According to the report, TOT is aiming to integrate the 2100-MHz and 2300-MHz bands to allow access through a single SIM soon, with the current target being the third quarter of 2019.

The operator earns around 375 million baht per month from its partnership with Dtac and 325 million baht per month through its agreement with AIS.
