Four new towers have been added in Melbourne, Australia by wireless broadband provider Unwired Australia as part of its network expansion program.

The provider said its wireless broadband service can now be accessed by residents in Balwyn, Brunswick , Hawthorn, Kew and parts of North East and North Melbourne , including Caulfield, Canterbury, Essendon and Ivanhoe. It claimed its personal wireless broadband network now covers over 250,000 homes in Melbourne.

Unwired Australia offers Wireless Cards and Wireless Desktop Modems, removing the requirement for telephone lines and cables and enabling users to select and pay for a plan and connect to the Internet from wherever they are.

The company said the service combines broadband with the benefits of portability, and offers a convenient, simple and cost-effective solution.
