Today's service providers and network operators face challenges of increasing demand for bandwidth and new mobile “app-driven” services that strain their existing networks and operational models.

In order to ensure highly efficient and profitable operation they must drive out complexity and cost in their network while enabling the delivery of new types of services. Service providers can now leverage VCS Ethernet Fabric technology and Software-Defined Networking with technologies like OpenFlow to better operate and control their networks to rapidly deliver customized services.

Also, as service providers prepare to offer new services via the cloud, the network infrastructure needs to be cloud optimized with an architecture that supports rapid, flexible and automated delivery of customized services.
