State parks in Ohio had to upgrade their facilities to attract the younger set. According to the Columbus Dispatch, their visitors are not happy just lolling amid the butterflies and fawns but need their cellphones and wireless laptops to fully enjoy nature.

'We're in the middle of God's country, and the cellphone reception is pretty spotty,' said Mike Powers, park manager at Burr Oak State Park. 'People nowadays, especially younger visitors, like to be in touch at all times. If they can't text message, they'd better be able to email.'

The investment in Wi-Fi at the park will allow your 13-year-old to never take their eyes from a screen during your entire weekend visit.
