Portuguese forward of Al-Nassr Cristiano Ronaldo will be punished if he returns to Iran. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner will face 99 lashes, Rouydad24 reported.
Ronaldo met up with his fan, artist Fatemeh, while traveling to Iran for an Asian Champions League match against local team Persepolis. He hugged and kissed the girl, which is considered a severe violation of Iranian law when outside of matrimony.
Ronaldo has not yet been formally charged.
Earlier Mеtaratings.ru reported that a full-size statue of Ronaldo was installed in Iran. In August, the Portuguese striker also faced arrest in Saudi Arabia for a Christian gesture.
