Former Chelsea, Manchester United, Leicester and the English national team player Danny Drinkwater announced the end of his career at the age of 33 on the High Performance podcast:

I'd just like to announce my retirement from professional football. It's probably been a long time coming, especially with the last year, but I think it's time to officially announce it now. I think I've been in limbo for too long, I've either been wanting to play but not getting the opportunities to play at a level where I felt valued.

Drinkwater is an English champion with Leicester and has won the FA Cup and Super Cup with Chelsea, he also has an Premier League Cup. In total, the 33-year-old midfielder played 380 matches, scored 21 goals and gave 38 assists during his club career. Drinkwater also has three games for the England national team.

His goal against Watford on February 8, 2014 was the best goal of the 2013/14 season in the English Premier League (EPL).

Drinkwater's last club was Reading in the season-2021/22, with whom the midfielder played in the Championship.
