French PSG support midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery has become the youngest French national team player in 109 years, the Daily Mail reports.

The 17-year-old Frenchman came into the starting lineup in the Euro 2024 qualifying match against Gibraltar (14-0). At that moment he was 17 years 8 months and 11 days old.

The midfielder also scored a goal against Gibraltar in the 16th minute of the match and thus became the youngest scorer of the French national team in 109 years.

He updated the achievement of midfielder Eduardo Camavigna, who in September 2020 entered the field in a match against Croatia at the age of 17 years 9 months and 29 days.

The record holder is still striker Maurice Gastiger. He made his debut for France on February 8, 1914 in a match against Luxembourg at the age of 17 years 4 months and 5 days. A month later, on March 8, 1914, he scored a goal in a match against Switzerland.

Zaire-Emery has been playing for PSG since 2022. This season, the midfielder has played 15 matches for the Parisians, in which he scored two goals and made five assists. Transfermarkt website estimates the market value of the 17-year-old player at €50 million.

Earlier, Zaire-Emery became the youngest player in the history of PSG, who ever took the field in official matches in the starting lineup of the Parisians.
