Former UFC two-division champion Daniel Cormier commented on the updated rankings of the best fighters regardless of weight class, in which Alex Volkanovski remains number one despite his loss to Islam Makhachev.
The P4P rankings answer the question, "How will your fighting style perform in other weight classes?" Volkanovski has clearly shown that his style works in other weight classes. The updated rankings came out today and Alex is still number one.

Let's recall that on February 12th, Alex Volkanovski lost to Islam Makhachev by unanimous decision at UFC 284 in Perth, Australia. It should be noted that UFC promoted the fight as a clash for the title of the best fighter regardless of weight class.
Volkanovski, 34, had his previous fight against Max Holloway at UFC 276 in July 2022. That fight ended with Alex winning by unanimous decision. Volkanovski has a record of 25 wins and two losses.
