UFC President Dana White named his nominees for the Performance of the Year and Fight of the Year awards. In 2021 White named the fight between Michael Chandler and Justin Gaethje the best fight of the year.
The Performance of the Year includes the following fights:
- Michael Chandler vs. Tony Ferguson (Chandler won by knockout in the second round);
- Molly McCann vs Luana Carolina (McCann won by knockout in the third round);
- Rob Font vs Marlon Vera (Vera won by unanimous decision of the judges);
- Weili Zhang vs Joanna Jędrzejczyk (Zhang won by knockout in the second round);
- Amanda Lemos vs Jessica Andrade (Andrade won by choke in the first round).
The Fight of the Year includes the following fights:
- Gilbert Burns vs Khamzat Chimaev;
- Dustin Poirier vs Michael Chandler;
- Glover Teixeira vs Jiří Procházka;
- Arman Tsarukyan vs Mateusz Gamrot;
- Matt Schnell vs Su Mudaerji.
The first UFC event of 2023 will take place on the night of January 15 in Las Vegas. The main event of the evening will feature a bout between Sean Strickland and Nasourdin Imavov.
