Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, who was previously released on bail, talked about his time in prison.

It doesn't matter what position we're in or where we are, we always have to keep our faith. We should always look for the best-case scenario for ourselves and just know that our lives are so much more than that, and things will always work out for the best. They kept me guarded, but everything was quiet. There were only a few people I could talk to. I think it's both good and bad when you have a lot of time alone with yourself. Loneliness is the hardest thing in prison. I could be out of my cell for three hours a day, which I used for exercising and reading. I knew I had support, and I want to thank everyone who helped me. I truly appreciate that support. It gave me strength when I was in prison.

Velasquez, 40, was arrested in February on charges of several serious crimes, including attempted murder. Cain allegedly stalked and shot a man accused of molesting the fighter's 4-year-old son. Velasquez was released from custody on November 9 after posting one million dollars bail.
