Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou spoke out about the upcoming title fight between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane on the night of March 5 at UFC 285.

I'm very excited about the Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane fight. It's going to be an exciting fight, I'll be watching it. But we all know that the word 'undisputed' means nothing in this confrontation. Yes, absolutely nothing. But I'll still be interested in watching this fight. Remember, they're going to try to say all sorts of things. They're going to criticize and devalue me. But no matter what, you have to remember who the real king and the best heavyweight in the world is. I'm the strongest heavyweight and I don't care what they say.

It was reported earlier that Ngannou was unable to reach an agreement with the UFC on a new contract and left the organization. His last fight was against Gane in January 2022 at UFC 270. Francis won that fight by unanimous decision of the judges.

Jones last entered the Octagon against Dominick Reyes in February 2020 at UFC 247. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended with Jones winning by unanimous decision of the judges.

Gane had his last fight against Tai Tuivasa last September at UFC Fight Night 209. In that fight Ciryl knocked out his opponent in the third round.
