Valve has officially canceled the Dota Pro Circuit system on the Dota 2 pro scene. The year 2023 will be the last year to have DPC leagues.

The developers are planning to introduce something new instead of the usual DPC seasons held since 2017. Perhaps they will return to the previous invite system at The International.

The International 13 (2024) will still take place, but Valve will reveal the details of the new system in 2024:

We're ending the Dota Pro Circuit: 2023 will be the final DPC season. Competitive Dota predates the DPC by many years and will continue long after. The International will continue as well — we're already working on The International 2024, and next year we'll be talking more about how invitations to that event will work. But for now, we're going to return our focus to this year's event — which, unbelievably, is only four short weeks away.

The International 12 will take place from October 12 to October 29 in LAN format in Seattle, USA. The top 20 teams from all over the world will take part in the main Dota 2 tournament of the year. The prize pool is still unknown.

At the end of September the developers will release an update for the game, which will be dedicated to the championship. Most likely, it will include a system similar to Battle Pass.
