Chicago Cubs vs Cincinnati Reds Prediction: Cubs Looking to Bounce Back

Chicago Cubs must have felt the defeat against the Reds at home. Cubs lost 3-5 to the Cincinnati Reds, which was simply unfavored from the Cub’s point of view. Going in the next game of the series, eyes will be on how Cincinnati Reds can build on their winning momentum and proceed to the next stages. Cubs will look to make most of the opportunities coming their way and win. 

The cubs were coming off a series of defeats against the Cardinals, and they were desperate to make a statement at home. However, they failed and weren’t able to maximize the home advantage. Just like the Reds, the Cubs were also unable to score in the first 5 innings, which dented them towards the lateral stage. The three top-order batters were the only ones who managed to convert runs into 1 RBIs each. In the pitching department, it was Keegan Thompson with 8 strikeouts and was supported well by Mark Leiter Jr, who managed to get 4 strikeouts. 

It wouldn’t be wrong to quote that the Reds got lucky as they weren’t of to a flying start; however, the likes of Jonathan India saved the day for them. Brandon Dury and Donovan Solano well-supported India. Luis Castillo was simply amazing and unplayable in the pitching corner, with 11 strikeouts. Reds will be banking on them to win the next game.

Going in the game, the pitching department of both teams looks very strong; hence a low-scoring game is expected. The scoreline is expected to be under 10. I will be backing Cincinnati Reds to win and win the series.
