Golden State lost to Chicago and will now face Washington in back-to-back games. Will the Warriors be able to rehabilitate themselves?

After five straight wins from December 24 to January 2, the team began to lose again. Washington has four losses in its last five games. And in the previous meeting with New York (108:112), Washington lost only by 4 points by the end of the fourth quarter and was losing more than ten. The Wizards dropped back just outside the Eastern Conference playoff zone, sitting in 12th place with an 18-25 lead.

After defeating San Antonio (144:131), the Warriors lost another game to Chicago (118:132). The team again played poor defense, allowing Bulls leaders to score 70 points between them. And the Chicago Texans couldn't even count on Demar Derozan in that game. Golden State is in a slump again, having lost four of its last five games and falling out of the playoff zone. The Warriors are currently only eighth in the West with a 21-22 balance.

Washington has excellent stats against Golden State in recent seasons, but that hardly means anything for the upcoming game. The Warriors have been playing poorly lately, but as bad as it is, Washington's situation is even worse. The team doesn't seem to believe in their abilities, which is why they can't reach their potential. It's doubtful that a meeting with Golden State, motivated by its recent failures, is the right way to change that state of affairs.
