New Zealand Women vs. India Women: A Five Match ODI Series

A single T20 and 5 ODI matches are to be played at John Davies Oval in Queenstown to get the team prepared for the ODI season scheduled in March. For the second ODI match, New Zealand and India will be competing on 15 February 2022.

The member of the ICC, the New Zealand women’s national cricket team, represents the country internationally. The team has made it to the finals of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 4 times, out of which they won once in 2000 and were runner-ups thrice. New Zealand hasn’t had a chance to win the Women’s World T20 and came runner-ups in 2009 and 2010. They are currently ranked 4th and 5th in the ICC WODI and WT20I. The last match was against India, and they won by 62 runs. One of the batters remained on the field, scoring 106 runs, including 10 fours. Another excellent performance was presented by Jess Kerr, who scored 4 wickets against India. With a recent victory in hand, New Zealand is indicative of giving a tough time to India and making it an interesting game to follow.

The Indian women's national cricket team is ready to spread the colors of victory in the upcoming game against NZ. The team won the ODI Championship in 2017 and were the T20I runner-ups in 2020. The past years of success and explicit performance by the group present a great threat to the opposing team. However, in their recent match against NZ, the team had to taste defeat after a good fight. The captain Mithali Raj scored 59 runs and remained the highest scoring batter in the group. Moreover, Rajeshwari gave away the least number of runs, i.e., 28, to the opposing team and scored 2 wickets.
