Pakistan vs New Zealand Prediction: Pakistan to Make a Winning Start to 2023

Pakistan and New Zealand will square off in the first of three One-Day International (ODI) matches on Monday (January 9) at Karachi's National Stadium.

Pakistan has struggled in Test cricket during the previous 12 months, failing to win games against Australia, England, and New Zealand. They did, however, just lose one ODI last year, which should give them a lot of confidence going into the series opener.

Pakistan has recalled Fakhar Zaman and Haris Sohail for the One-Day International series. Shadab Khan suffered a finger injury while playing in the Big Bash League (BBL). Tayyab Tahir, Usama Mir, and Kamran Ghulam have also been called up for their first ODIs for Pakistan.

Tahir was recently named Player of the Match in the Pakistan Cup final, as he hit 71 against Balochistan for Central Punjab. Ghulam and Fakhar were not among the series' 21 probables until being drafted in for the games.

New Zealand, led by Kane Williamson, battled hard but had little success in the Test series. They had a fantastic effort against India in the ODI series, with Tom Latham performing admirably. Their spin bowling combination of Michael Bracewell, Ish Sodhi, and Mitchell Santner will also be highlighted.

Pakistan was unbeatable in one-day internationals last year, losing only one game. As a result, it won't be surprising if they get out to a winning start in 2023 as well.
