The Journey of Antonio Alcinas

The Samurai is a Spanish dart player who is very active in the Professional Darts Corporation events since 2009.

But, it wasn’t until 2018 that he progressed to the second round of the PDC World Darts Championship for the first time, after beating Cristo Reyes in an exciting 3-1 match. He then went on to beat the German Player Kevin Munch by 4-1 to qualify for the last 16. Here, he was beaten by Darren Webster, thereby ending his championship journey. In 2019 as well, he qualified for the third round but lost to Benito van des Pas by 2-4.

.

The Samurai’s current performance

After 2020, the only match that Antonio has played was on March 4, 2022, against Prakash Jiwa for the World UK Open. Sadly he lost by 2-6, bringing his UK Open journey to a halt in merely the first stage of the competition. However, his performance in the game was impressive.

Prior to that, he was in good form in 2020, where he progressed to the third stage of World: Player’s Championship by beating Evans and Humphries before losing to Rydz.

.

A look back at Gary Blades’ performance

Gary Blade has also had a similar tumultuous performance over the years.

The English darts player has competed in the UK Open four times since joining the sports. In 2005, he lost 4-3 to Gary Flynn in the first round. In 2007, he progressed to the first round before being beaten by Simon Craven 8-6. It wasn’t until 2021 that he reached the third round of the tournament but lost to Andy Hamilton by 3-6.

.

The Razor’s latest scores

Tomorrow’s match will be the first for Blade for 2022. 2021 wasn’t really a great year for the professional darts player as he experienced a series of losses.

For starters, for the World: Players Championship 30, he lost to Smith by 3-6. In the Players Championship 29, he was thrashed by Edgar by a whopping 0-6.

.

Who is the stronger contender?

Neither Blade nor Alcinas has put up a promising performance in 2021. Hence, it is acceptable to think of both players having moderate success throughout their careers.

But what happens when two moderate players clash? It means that the match surely will be a close call! However, keeping in mind the success rate of the two players, it seems that Alcinas has more chances to win the game.
