OG vs Thunder Awaken Prediction: the Peruvians Trying to Clinch the Playoffs

One of the most important international Dota 2 tournaments, the PGL Arlington Major 2022, will continue on Sunday, August 7. OG and Thunder Awaken will play in the fourth round.

PGL Arlington Major 2022 - an international cyber-sports tournament in Dota 2 with the status of the major. The contest in the U.S. will be the second and final major event of the 2021/22 DPC cycle. The top 17 teams from around the world will compete for $500,000 and 4,570 DPC points from August 04-14.

OG is having a hard time in the group stage of the current majors. So far, the European team has only one win over RNG (2:0) while losing to PSG.LGD (0:2) and playing three draws with Team Liquid (1:1), Fnatic (1:1), and Soniqs (1:1). Yesterday's game day helped OG climb into the playoff zone, but Group A is so tight that the gap between elimination and the top slot in the next major is one failure or success. 

The current OG team continues to hold the reputation of an aggressive squad. Such style helped them win the first major of 2022 and perform well in all regional leagues, booking a ticket to TI11.

At the Riyadh Masters 2022 in late July, the OG team held its first entire squad LAN tournament. Finally, Misha solved all the problems, who wasn't at the victorious major, but the OG support didn't make it to the second major again due to visa problems. The South American team is still out of the playoff zone. The Peruvians have lost once and had four draws. They fell to RNG and played in a tie with Talon Esports, Soniqs, Outsiders, and Fnatic. Thunder Awaken is not the whipping boys, but it is clear that the South American squad is lacking in stability. They have a successful map, and then the failure goes.

What bad luck for the Peruvians. Darkmago was denied a U.S. visa. He will try again but won't make it to the start. The team profile has no information about his participation or replacement, but it's a disadvantage for his team. Moreover, the team gets a technical defeat in the game with Talon on the first day of the group stage, as two players and the coach will get their visas only on August 4 and will arrive in the U.S. only on that day.

All of the regional leagues have been good for Thunder Awaken. The guys won the South American Regional League three times. They went to the majors in Sweden and performed well there, finishing in 5th-6th place but losing in the playoffs to OG. Such results satisfied the management, and they didn't change the lineup. Thunder Awaken is still the main favorite of the South American region. The other day the team won the closed qualifications for ESL One Malaysia 2022, so the preparation for TI11 in Peru is in full swing.

Thunder Awaken (formerly known as Thunder Predator) is a South American eSports organization. Their former name was due to their sponsorship of Acer's Predator brand.

The Thunders, after the failure at TI10, completely changed their lineup. Instead, they took a full NoPing e-sports lineup. Though they performed well in the region in 2021, they failed to qualify for TI10. To be honest, the team was lucky to be sponsored by an even more top-ranked organization, getting a second chance. The Peruvians have taken advantage of this chance so far, winning the first, second, and third DPC leagues in South America without giving a chance to their competitors.

We expect a draw in this match. Also, we believe that the opponents will reach the totals - the frags TO (102.5) and the frags IT2O (38.5).
