The Red and White Queens will kick off their World Cup campaign with a matchup against China at HBF Park on Saturday. Denmark have been remarkable since the qualifiers but will face a Chinese team who have made it out of the group phase since their debut in 1991.

DENMARK

The Red and White returned to the tournament -after failing to make it out of the group phase in 2007. Denmark finished the UEFA Women's Championship at the top of the table, winning all their matches. Even though they were paired with average sides like Montenegro, Malta, and Azerbaijan, with Russia and Bosnia being the slightly better teams, Denmark scored forty goals while conceding twice.

Denmark head here with four wins and two defeats over their previous six games in all competitions. Their most recent encounter was a (0-2) defeat in the warm-up game against Spain. Denmark's best result in this competition was a quarterfinal finish in 1991 and 1995. Lars Sondergarrd's team will hope to surpass their previous record in this competition, and we are confident they won’t disappoint.

.

CHINA

The Steel Roses head here for the seventh time in their history and third consecutive appearance. China have made it out of the group phase since their debut in 1991. In 2019, they were knocked out of the competition in the round of 16 for the first time since 1991. China head here as the Asian Champions after defeating South Korea (3-2) in the final.

China have won twice in their last seven friendly matches and have performed woefully against European teams. Their most recent encounter ended in a (2-2) draw against Colombia after defeating Russia (2-1).

China have lost their opening encounters since 2007 and will be very cautious not to start here with a defeat.

Expert Betting Tips

Over their previous four meetings, both sides have recorded two victories. Both sides have been paired in the same group in the last three World Cups (1991, 1995, 2007) and

Denmark are yet to win against China. Even though Denmark haven't beaten China in this competition before, the Red and Roses have improved massively in recent years. On the contrary, China head here with one win in their last six international friendlies; two defeats, a win and two draws against European sides. We can’t definitively judge them based on these results, but it’s definitely not a good signal. On the other hand, Denmark have lost just once in their last five games. We don’t expect an open game here as both sides hardly score; bet on a total of under 2.5 goals for 1.71.

Denmark will kick start their campaign with the regular frontline of Janni Thomsen, Pernille and Nicoline Sorensen. On the other hand, China's attack of Wang Shanshan and Wang Shuang will try to test the defence of the Danish Women's team. Going by the quality of both teams, we expect Denmark to secure all the points here for 1.84.

We expect to see less than a goal in both halves for 1.80.
