Cuiabá vs Atlético-MG Prediction: The Miners are confident in a victory

Two teams at contrasting levels of form will meet at the Arena Pantanal. Cuiabá has yet to win in the Brasileirão, while Atlético Mineiro has yet to lose. The Mato-Grossenses saw their home game with Vitória postponed, so they've only played away from Cuiabá, although that doesn't make up for their poor performance with five goals conceded and none scored. The Miners are playing dynamic attacking football and are confident of picking up another win.

The Dourado is doing better in the Copa Sudamericana than in the Brasileirão. Cuiabá is in second place in Group G after a one-all draw in Peru against Deportivo Garcilaso and is, therefore, in a position to qualify. The team again didn't include Deyverson, the Dourado's star player, apparently because he has already signed a pre-contract with another Série A team. According to some reports, the player and management have reached an understanding in the last few days, and the striker will return to play for Cuiabá. The Golden & Green needs points urgently to get out of last place and can't afford to give up Deyverson.

The Rooster is in good momentum and has won two games in one week. In the Clássico Mineiro, Atlético beat rival Cruzeiro 3-0 at home, and in the Copa Libertadores, also at the Arena MRV, another victory, this time 3-2 against Peñarol. In both games, it was noticeable how easy it was for the team to create goal-scoring opportunities. Against the Uruguayans, Atlético Mineiro had to suffer to hold on to a three-goal lead, and perhaps this overshadowed the team's brilliant first half. The Rooster is the Brazilian team in the best form, but it needs to be consistent. Gabriel Milito's side will go to Cuiabá looking to win the match.

Despite playing away from home, the Miners are the favorites as they are in great form. Atlético never lost to Cuiabá in the six times the sides met and will enter the Arena Pantanal confidently. However, football is often full of surprises, and the Rooster could have a bad day. I'm backing the visitors to win, expecting them to continue their good run of form.
