Brighton vs Leeds Prediction: Both Won't Suffer Their First Defeat

Brighton continues to make rapid progress. After several years of struggling for survival in England's elite division, the Seagulls have transformed into a solid Premier League performer with European Cup ambitions. The Blue and Whites finished ninth last season so now they are now set to do even better. In their league debut this season, Graham Potter's charges swatted away Manchester United 2:1, then shared the points with Newcastle United 0:0, before facing West Ham 2:0 in the last round. Such a strong debut allows Brighton to occupy the fifth place in the standings.

Leeds failed last season, fighting for survival until the very last minutes of the final round, but still managed to do it. In the summer Jesse March had the opportunity to conduct a full preseason training, which is already paying off. In the opening round, the Peacocks beat an unstoppable Wolverhampton 2:1. Then, there was a bright and entertaining, but frustrating draw against Southampton. The Whites led 2:0, but let the Saints to come back 2:2. In the last round, Leeds thrashed Chelsea 3:0, soaring to fourth place in the standings.

It was hard to imagine that Brighton and Leeds would be proudly positioned in the top five of the Premier League by the end of the three rounds. Both have two wins and one draw so they will approach the encounter with an equal chance of success. Moreover, the Seagulls and Peacocks tied the two head-to-head meetings last season, so now this outcome seems the most probable.

Brighton and Leeds have had a surprisingly productive start. As a result, they are rightfully at the top of the Premier League, but their fuse will gradually begin to fade. After all, at a distance of 38 games is difficult to demonstrate such a high level of playing. Moreover, they already have something to lose, as they are only two points from the top of the standings.
