Tottenham Hotspur vs Brentford Prediction: Will the home team pick up three points?

Tottenham will face Brentford in round 37 of the English Premier League. The Spurs have been unstable in the last half of the season and could fall out of the Europa League in the event of another defeat. Brentford will be without their star player in the attack - Toney has been disqualified. Will this factor make it easier for Tottenham to pick up three points on home soil?

After a 1:0 home win over Crystal Palace, the London side traveled to Aston Villa. Spurs failed to pick up points in Birmingham, 1:2. In their last six appearances in the English league, Tottenham has picked up just four points and dropped out of contention to qualify for the Champions League. Their European appearance for the next campaign remains in doubt. Tottenham is currently sitting in seventh place in the EPL table.

Brentford is performing well in their final stretch of the EPL season. The only unconvincing performance was the away game against Liverpool at Anfield, which ended in a 0:1 defeat for the Bees. In the four-game stretch, Thomas Franc scored two unanswered goals against Chelsea and West Ham and beat Nottingham Forest 2:1. Brentford sits ninth in the table with 53 points.

Tottenham are one point behind Brighton and have two more matches than the Seagulls. The Spurs are fighting for a trip to the Europa League. Brentford still retains a chance of catching up with Tottenham, who are seventh in the table. That position gives them access to the Conference League. The game will be a very active one. Even with the loss of Toney through suspension, Brentford will be dangerous on the attack, given the poor performance of the Spurs defenders in a crucial period of the current campaign. We can expect a high-scoring encounter in the English capital.
