Colombia vs Italy Prediction: Only one of these teams will qualify for the next round

Colombia has often been successful in qualifying for the Youth World Cup. The 2023 Youth World Cup is the 11th tournament in which they have qualified for the finals, and in all those attempts, they have only managed to reach the medals once, winning bronze at the 2003 World Cup. After two decades, they intend to do well again. The Colombians beat the Israelis and Japanese 2:1 in the group stage, then drew 1:1 with Senegal to clinch the play-off spot. In the round of 16, they beat Slovakia 5:1, with all the goals coming after half-time.

The Italian team is a little less experienced, as World Cup 2023 is only the eighth tournament they have managed to reach. They did, however, win bronze medals at the 2017 World Cup, so local success is still fresh in the mind. The Italians qualified for the Youth World Cup in Argentina by reaching the semi-finals of the continental championship, where they had lost to England the year before. But now they managed to take revenge by beating England 2:1 in the last eight of the World Cup 2023, with the winning goal coming in the 87th minute, leaving the Blues with virtually no time to save. They can now go to the top four for a third successive World Cup.

Colombia and Italy have been excellent participants in World Cup 2023, but only one of these teams will qualify for the next round of the World Youth Championships. The team has not suffered a single defeat in Argentina, but they have yet to face a top-level opponent. But the Blues have already beaten the reigning South American and UEFA EURO champions. The Italians have more experience of success in top-flight encounters, which makes them the favorites to win the upcoming game.

We can rightfully expect a high level of performance from this game. Suffice it to say that the two current top scorers at the World Cup 2023 are Cesare Casadei of Italy and Oscar Cortes of Colombia, who will now face each other in a head-to-head encounter and try to add to their goal-scoring ranks. In addition, both teams have been playing cheerfully and productively throughout the tournament, conceding a lot and scoring even more, so the quarterfinal shouldn't be a problem either.
