Ghana vs Nigeria: Expect the visiting team to smash the home team in the 'Jollof Derby'

Two of the best Western African teams meet to decide who will witness one of the most significant trophies in the world. The Black Stars of Ghana will contest against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Kumasi on Friday. Both teams had a disappointing outing at the AFCON tournament and are presented with another opportunity to rewrite their mistakes. The Black Stars of Ghana had an underwhelming performance at the just concluded AFCON tournament and that will go down as the worst trip ever in the history of their outings.

This match means a lot to them and playing in front of their home fans will provide the boost they need to defeat Nigeria.

Rated 61st in FIFA World ranking and coach Otto Addo who will be supported by the service of former Newcastle and Brighton coach Chris Hughton and they need to hit the ground running to ensure they come off with a good result against Nigeria.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria missed the service of Napoli's talisman Victor Osimhen at the AFCON tournament and are pleased to have both him and Odion Ighalo back for this clash, their introduction will bring massive confidence in the heart of the Super Eagles' attack.

They topped Group D with nine points and finished as one of the best out of group stages but were carried away against Tunisia in the quarter-finals as the Northern African side defeated Nigeria with a 1-0 scoreline.

Nigeria are blessed with talented wingers and strikers, however, they are going to miss the service of Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi to a knee injury.

Ranked 32nd in the world, they have lost once, won three times and drawn one in the last five matches.

While Nigeria will be looking to quickly return to winning ways, next up is a Ghana side who they have failed to defeat in each of the most recent four meetings between the sides, losing three and claiming one draw since a 1-0 victory back in 2006.

This is a Derby match against two countries who share borders and it's going to be a battle to finish when they meet.
