Empoli vs Napoli Prediction: Will Luciano Spalletti's team achieve another victory?

Napoli beat German Eintracht in brilliant style in the Champions League and will now face Empoli on the road in the Italian championship. Will Luciano Spalletti's team achieve another victory?

In 2023, the Blues have lost only one match so far, failing to beat Roma away (0:2) on February 4. The team has two wins and five draws in the remaining seven games. It should be noted that during this period, Empoli didn't only meet with the middles and underdogs but, for example, managed to beat Inter away (1:0) and took points away from Lazio (2:2) in Rome.

Last matchday Empoli played away against European Cup participant Fiorentina and took advantage of opponent fatigue after the match in the Conference League with Portuguese Braga. The Blues opened the scoring in the middle of the first half through the efforts of Nicolo Cambiaga and could have won, but allowed the Florentines to get back into the game. Still, it was another very high-quality game for Empoli (1:1). The team got 12th place in Serie A and was only four points behind the seventh line.

The Neapolitans had their previous match on Tuesday. As previously mentioned, the team met with the local Eintracht in Frankfurt and achieved a confident win. Victor Osimen and Giovanni Di Lorenzo scored (a 2:0 win). Napoli has created a considerable head start before the return leg of the Champions League round of 16.

In the domestic championship, Napoli has already won seven straight victories with a total score of 19:2. The latest victim for the Neapolitans was Sassuolo, who lost 2:0 on the road. They are 15 points ahead of all other teams in the Serie A standings and will almost certainly clinch the long-awaited league title, not even at the end of the season, but ahead of schedule, several rounds before the end.

Napoli is on a roll this season, and Empoli has few chances to stop Luciano Spalletti's terrific team. However, the Blues are certainly capable of causing problems for the Neapolitans. Empoli is a very organized team. It is no coincidence that the Blues lost only one match in 2023, and we will not count on Napoli to win. Moreover, after the Champions League match, Napoli will certainly have severe changes in the squad. We'll take a cautious bet on Napoli not to lose through the total under - only three of Empoli's 11 home games and only two of Napoli's 13 away games have seen more than three goals scored.
