Milan vs Verona Prediction: Expect a win for the home team

Milan has had a very tricky season, but on the whole, they deserve credit for their performance. The Red and Black could not defend their Serie A title, but they beat Juventus 1:0 on the road last weekend to ensure a place in the top four and, with it, a ticket to next year's Champions League. Verona is in the toughest of positions in the standings. The Bianconeri have been in trouble since the beginning, but they've been gradually improving. Since January, their results have begun to improve. However, they are coming up short in the closing stages of the championship. In the last three rounds, they lost 0:1 to Torino and 1:3 to Atalanta, and the key match for them was last weekend when they beat Empoli by 96 minutes. Still, an offensive auto-goal and a draw - 1:1. Verona is in 18th place in the standings, at risk of relegation to Serie B.

AC Milan and Verona face each other on the final matchday of the Serie A season with entirely different motivations. The Red and Black have no motivation, as they have already secured a place in the top four and a trip to the Champions League. For the Bianconeri, a defeat would automatically mean relegation from Italy's top flight. Only this factor does not guarantee a successful performance from Marco Zeffaroni's charges because they played against a similarly unmotivated Empoli at home last matchday. However, they still could not keep the positive result, conceding in the 96th minute.

The recent encounter between AC Milan and Verona has been quite productive. In their five previous meetings, the opponents have jointly scored 18 goals against each other (3.60 goals per game on average). Moreover, the Red Blacks scored at least twice each in all five battles. On this basis, the best option for the prediction seems to be an individual total of Milan over 1.5, and we should bet on a total over 2.5.
