The current regular season is much more interesting for Philadelphia, as for the first time in several years the Pennsylvanians are back in the fight for cup spots. They still lack stability and skill, but they continue to actively collect points on character, claiming a playoff spot. After the All-Star break, they beat Florida 2:1, Winnipeg 4:1, Seattle 3:2, and Arizona 5:3. Only after that they lost in overtime to Toronto - 3:4, and the day before remained without points in the battle with New Jersey - 3:6. Nevertheless, the Flyers are sixth in the Eastern Conference standings.

Chicago and Philadelphia in the current regular championship are opponents of different levels. For the Hawks, the current season is a transitional season, they are rebuilding the roster, and therefore they are not able to solve decent problems. They are in last place in the Western Conference standings, and their chances of making the playoffs are close to zero. The Flyers are in a different situation, they are in good shape and are inside the top eight, where they clearly want to stay.

Do not expect that the upcoming confrontation will please us with high goal activity. The point is that the Hawks have been playing very poorly offensively lately, having scored only 15 goals in the previous ten games (1.50 average per game), and a total of 48 shots on goal (4.80 average per game).
